Festive flying: a decorated Lancaster takes off with #TheAviators
#TheAviators Festive Flight got off to a truly shocking start when @mogsbear’s notorious baboon Paco decided to assist Flight Leader @ToddyFur by blowing a wake-up bugle to ensure all pilots were awake and fully functional ahead of take-off time. Unfortunately this caused the fliers such a major shock that a large number had to be revived with bacon sandwiches and coffee in #TheAviators Lounge before the flight could go ahead. Bearford Airfield looked festive as seasonally decorated aircraft climbed into the air and circled the field ready to follow their leader on a visit to some well-known Twitter places. Wings were dipped and cheers rang out as @henryandfriends and the #TweetChoir tunefully invited everyone to Deck The Halls With Boughs Of Holly, and to come along and join the Choir Monday nights.
Furry hospitable: @ToddyFur welcomes #TheAviators
There were squeals of excitement and delight as Dinkers were spotted playing in the trees of Sherford Valley in the lovely Devon countryside before the flight turned north to swoop low over the stadium of West Bromwich Football Club, near Birmingham, England. Crossing the border into Scotland, there was a brief stopover for tea and some delicious noms at @mogsbear’s #CaykClub ahead of a quick trip to Lapland for a visit to Santa’s reindeer. This prompted a safety warning from @Tiacat007, who was concerned about some pilots hanging out of their planes to take pictures. Turning south again to Germany, #TheAviators landed to buy a Christmas pyramid and other local crafts at a Christmas market before heading across the Atlantic to visit #NipClub, then returning for a relaxing drink at the #FurryTails riverside bar and clubhouse. Everyone agreed that it had been a wonderful Festive Adventure, and in thanking Flight Leader @ToddyFur assured him that they were looking forward to flying with him on more adventures in the new year.
#CatmasEve
Elftini: this year’s must-have drink at #CatmasEve
There was great excitement on #CatmasEve at the announcement of a live link-up with NORAD, the North American Aerospace Defense Command, who had been tasked with monitoring Santa’s progress around the globe. Bartender @PepiSmartDog and his famous Showgirls were among the first to report that Santa had visited their homes and delivered presents. @SnowyWestie sent greetings and good wishes to pals across two separate oceans, bringing home to pals the vast distances the pawty was covering. As the minutes ticked towards midnight in the UK the music changed to Christmas carols and @Mikey_W_Cat pretended to be asleep so that Santa would not be deterred from delivering his presents.
In great demand on #CatmasEve: Frosty the Snowcake
With UK pals reporting that their presents had arrived and NORAD showing Santa heading west across the Atlantic, pawtying resumed in earnest. One pal with special reason to celebrate was @Abbeyrescuedox, whose well-deserved promotion to Detective was announced, to loud appaws, by Sekurity Chief @brutusthedane, though a few of the less well-behaved turned pale at Abbey’s acceptance speech, in which she asked for confirmation that she now was authorized to wear a gun. Off-duty Sekurity Officer @NutmegTorby complained that no one was talking to her and concluded pals were afraid she might be planning to arrest them. Plans were announced for a tour by newly formed rock band Sweet Moo and the Trubblemakers, whose first album is expected to be released soon. As NORAD confirmed that Santa had arrived over the USA and pals hurried off to check their presents had been safely delivered, pals thanked @GeorgeTheDuck and @kittehboi for hosting the pawty, and @TerenceTerrier, pointedly shaking the Tips Jar, warned everyone to leave quietly and not disturb the neighborhood with howling or caterwauling, and also to be careful to take their belongings with them as otherwise they would be auctioned off for @blackcatrescue. As one pal put it, #CatmasEve had been a huge success, and Catmas could now officially begin.
